Ampleforth Rugby. Always.

We were delighted to welcome members of the Old Amplefordian Rugby Club (OARFC) back to the valley on Saturday as part of their end‑of‑season tour.

The visit coincided with the College’s Prospective Parents’ Open Morning, and while the arrival of 26 rugby players on tour could have been interesting, the team proved to be outstanding ambassadors for the College.

The OARFC group was warmly greeted on arrival by Jon Mutton, closely followed by Housemaster Chris Starkey a fitting reminder that once part of the Ampleforth community, always part of the Ampleforth Community.

Visits such as these offer a valuable opportunity for prospective families to see the strength of lifelong connections forged at Ampleforth, and for current pupils to be inspired by those who have gone before them.

We are grateful to the OARFC team for taking the time to return to the College and for inspiring the next generation. We look forward to welcoming them back again soon.
