Ironman Tommy Ogden

OA Takes on the Geordieman for Cystic Fibrosis Care

Old Amplefordian Tommy Ogden (D23) will take on the Geordieman Full Ironman Triathlon in Newcastle on 23 August, a formidable challenge comprising a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle, and 42.2km marathon.

He is undertaking the event in memory of his close friend and fellow OA, Charlie York (Cuthberts), who sadly passed away last year at the age of 20. Charlie lived with Cystic Fibrosis and faced the daily challenges of the condition with remarkable courage and determination.  He was an inspiration to all that knew him.

By completing the Ironman, Charlie hopes to raise vital funds for Cystic Fibrosis Care and support families affected by the disease.

We wish him every success as he takes on this extraordinary test of endurance in Charlie's memory.
