About The Ampleforth Society
The Ampleforth Society is a global community of Old Amplefordians, parents and staff united by a shared connection to Ampleforth Abbey and Ampleforth College.
More than a network, it is a lifelong fellowship rooted in the friendships, faith, and values nurtured in the valley over generations.
The Society exists to foster a spirit of belonging, gratitude and service—encouraging members to give back to one another and to Ampleforth, while offering support across the personal, professional, and spiritual journeys of life.
With a deep commitment to friendship, education, faith, and mentorship, the Society serves as a bridge between Ampleforth’s past, present, and future—ensuring that the Benedictine values continue to inspire and guide all who pass through its gates.
For Alumni (Old Amplefordians)
Being an Old Amplefordian means staying connected to a tradition that extends far beyond school years. Membership of the Ampleforth Society is automatically granted to all Old Amplefordians on leaving the College at age 18, providing they have spent at least one year in the school. Through the Ampleforth Society, alumni remain linked to one another and to the wider community—sharing experiences, offering mutual support, and carrying forward the values of friendship, faith, and service that were instilled during their time at the College.
For Current Parents
As a parent of a current pupil, you are part of a living tradition at Ampleforth. The Ampleforth Society offers a way to deepen your connection with the wider community—linking families, staff, monks, and alumni through shared values, faith, and friendship. It is an invitation to journey with us, during your child’s time here and beyond.
For Former Parents
The Ampleforth experience does not end when your child leaves the College. The Ampleforth Society welcomes former parents into a lasting community built on the friendships, faith, and values shared during your family’s time in the valley. It is a space to stay connected, to continue to receive from Ampleforth, to give back, and to remain part of the story.
