Ampleforth Lourdes Pilgrimage
The Ampleforth Lourdes Pilgrimage has a special place in the heart of many Ampleforth Society Members. The annual Pilgrimage is transformational for all those who journey together, whether they are young people from Ampleforth College or other Catholic Schools, Old Amplefordians and Parents who volunteer as Helpers, Doctors and Nurses, the Chaplains from the Abbey or, at the centre of the Pilgrimage, the Assisted Pilgrims in whose service we all find faith and hope.
The Lourdes Pilgrimage is reliant on financial support and donations are always needed and valued. The Pilgrimage must raise £70,000 every year in order to run, your help is an essential part of this.
The organising committee's mission is to ensure that we continue to enable pilgrims to answer the call of Our Lady to come to Lourdes, particularly Assisted Pilgrims and the Clinical Staff and Young Helpers who support them. Without generous donations from our community they would not be able to offer the financial assistance required to enable these groups to join and cover the many other expenses involved with running a Pilgrimage.
Donations are made to the Ampleforth Abbey Trust but restricted solely for use to run the Pilgrimage.
