London event - 'Insulate Ukraine' - 14 October
Please join us in London (Ukranian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy family of London, W1K 5BQ) for an inspiring talk by Old Amplefordian Harry Blakiston Houston (E/W14), founder of Insulate Ukraine.
In this talk Harry will talk about the past, present and future of humanitarian engineering across Ukraine’s frontline. Drawing on his experience at Insulate Ukraine which over 2 years has been responsible for protecting over 18,000 homes, schools, hospitals and administrative buildings within 30km of Ukraine’s frontline. The talk will include the origins of this project from a lab at The University of Cambridge, establishing a project on the frontline of a war zone, and using a corporate-cross-charitable model to fund nationwide social programmes in a world where governmental development aid is falling out of vogue.
There will be informal networking drinks after the talk.
This event is open to all members of the Ampleforth Society - book your place HERE.
