His funeral was held at Ampleforth Abbey on the 20th of December.

Tributes

Fr Aidan was much respected as officer in command of basis section in CCF. He managed us mob with firm efficiency and good humour. He became a hermit, an extraordinary calling which we all admired if did not fully understand. Remember thinking he was a sad loss to the School and he had a higher calling.

I remember Fr Aidan with great affection as one of my biology teachers; I went on to a life as a professional biologist and government science adviser thanks in no small part to his encouragement.
