Ampleforth Society Virtual Career Event: Insight into Finance

The Ampleforth Society warmly invites its members to join the second of its industry insight events.

Our second event, ‘Insight into Finance’, will take place at 6:45pm (GMT) on 19th November and will be Chaired by OA Colonel Nick Channer OBE (D81). The panellists will discuss their career journey from Ampleforth to present day, and debate what the future holds for their industry. Nick will be joined by three panellists: Andrew Fattorini (O86), Archie Cochrane (J09), and Nathan Too (J12).

Speakers: 

Colonel Nick Channer OBE (D81)

Nick is currently Chief of Staff at Wilson James Ltd, a leading security, logistics and aviation services provider with more than 5,000 employees operating across the UK. Prior to assuming his position at Wilson James, Nick enjoyed several senior roles within the armed forces, including as Chief of Staff British Armed Forces (Germany). As well as being an Old Amplefordian (D81) and parent of three OAs, Nick is also one of the Trustees of the Ampleforth Society.

Andrew Fattorini (O86)

Andrew is Head of Finance, Europe for the multinational KP group, a specialist in packaging for food and pharmaceuticals. He graduated from Durham University in 1989 with a BSc in Mathematics/Computing, before receiving an MBA from the Open University in 2003. He joined KPMG UK in 1989, and after qualifying as a chartered accountant (FCA), transferred to KPMG Italy, as a manager working mainly in Audit and Transaction services (due diligence), and occasionally in Tax when in the UK. He has lived in Italy since 1993.

Since 1996, Andrew has worked for KP with roles including Financial Controller for Verona, Finance Director for Italy and Group Finance Manager. Andrew is Hon. Regional Secretary for the Veneto for the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy, and is a member of the Board of Confindustria Verona, the Italian industry association. He is also a Committee Member of the Italian Association of International Accountants.

Archie Cochrane (J09)

Archie is an Investment Associate at Anthemis Group, a leading early-stage fintech VC firm. From the Anthemis Headquarters in London and New York, Archie invests in pre-seed, seed and series A stage companies across Europe and Latin America. He also helps lead the firms venture building efforts, which includes concept development and validating incubated business models at the idea stage. After leaving Ampleforth in 2009, Archie went on to study at the University of Nottingham. 

Nathan Too (J12)

Nathan accidentally ended up in banking after working in healthcare and then studying Psychology at UCL. He is passionate about volunteering as a way to develop and find new problem solving opportunities. Nathan lives with his family in London and has recently moved into a new role managing Capital at Lloyds Banking Group, after completing the three-year finance graduate scheme.​
