We were blessed with fantastic weather for the 90s and 00s Reunion Dinner at the Hurlingham Club on 29 April. 75 Old Amplefordians gathered on the terrace for drinks and canapes, before festivities truly got underway over an excellent four course dinner. The wine flowed freely, as did the conversation, with plenty of opportunity to reminisce and catch up, for some after 30 years since they last saw each other.
There was strong representation from the Leavers of ’92, ’99 and ’01, all who missed reunions due to COVID. Rory Fagan (B90) had flown in from Sydney and Rob Hollas (T99) from Riyadh, showing a real dedication to SHAC. There was a stellar turnout of Costelloes, with 5 out of 6 brothers joining us, nearly one for each table.
Lizzie Rohan, Alumni Relations Manager, welcomed everyone and Emma Craig, Head of Development, gave a short speech inviting everyone present to come back to Ampleforth very soon. Fr Rupert McHardy (D92) said Grace, having celebrated Mass for a small cohort of attendees earlier at the Little Oratory.

All present reflected on how strong the bonds are between Old Amplefordians, and how great the affection is for SHAC, much more so than other schools. There were many generous offers of support, including careers advice for pupils and young OAs, facilitating connections for the school, and offers to organize gatherings around the world. We look forward to the next dinner and seeing many of you back at Ampleforth soon.
