Trustee Recruitment for AAT and SLET
Dear Friends
Following a comprehensive review of governance in 2018, an agreement was signed between the Ampleforth Abbey Trust and St Laurence Education Trust which ensures that the trusts operate as independent charities with clarity of responsibilities and boundaries.
Ampleforth Abbey Trust, for the first time in its history, is seeking to appoint four lay trustees to join its charitable board to sit alongside monastic trustees in support of the future direction and works of Ampleforth Abbey Trust.
The Ampleforth Society has a membership of experienced, highly skilled, professional and well-educated people and some of you may be interested in applying to be trustees.
We have appointed Perret Laver to lead this search and candidates must be able to demonstrate a high level of personal accomplishment alongside experience of successfully fulfilling leadership roles at the very highest levels in organisations of considerable scale and complexity, and/or through public and community service and wider representation. Following a skills audit of current members, the following professional experience/backgrounds have been identified as priorities for recruitment:
a) Health/safeguarding
b) Accountancy/audit
c) Strategic financial management
d) Estates/land and property expertise/commercial optimisation of Estates
e) Organisational development/human resources/change management
If you are interested in applying to become a trustee of AAT, then please visit Perret Laver's website. The listing on Perret Laver's website will become live over the coming days. All telephone enquiries, in the first instance, should be directed to +44 (0) 20 7340 6200. The deadline for applications is 25 June (tbc).
The St Laurence Education Trust is now also seeking to recruit up to five Trustees, including a new Chair, to complement the skills and experience held by those currently on the Board.
Trustees will contribute to the setting and monitoring of the Trust’s strategic direction and will nurture positive relationships with the College’s Senior Leadership Team, as well as members of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust. The successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the charitable and independent school sectors, as well as substantial knowledge and experience of executive management in the private, public, or not-for-profit sectors. The Trust is particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in:
a) Health and wellbeing/safeguarding
b) Senior educational leadership
c) PR/strategic communications
d) Estate management
If you would like to make an application then please visit Society’s website.
For an informal conversation about these roles, please contact Megan Fisher.
The deadline for receipt of applications is midday (BST) Thursday, 20 June 2019.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on either Monday, 15 or Tuesday, 16 July 2019.
With kind regards,
Susan Fisher
