Old Amplefordian seeks support for theatre company - Pennyworth Productions
Dear fellow OA’s,
I’m on writing on behalf of Pennyworth Productions - a theatre company that came to life in 2016 in order to use new writing to challenge old ideas. Since then we’ve been lucky enough to win two major awards, tour both nationally and internationally and through 'PEN' our socio-political scratch night at the Arcola theatre, we have engaged and championed over 100 emerging artists from poets and comedians to actors and directors.
Our work aims to raise questions about today's world through the domestic and social sphere. All of our productions have at least a 50/50 gender split favouring women both on and off stage, and we look to start conversations around issues like mental health, and sexuality that are often avoided.
This year we are also delighted to be presenting a three week run of our long form work to date ‘Moments and Empty Beds’ at the Offie award- winning theatre The Hope in Islington. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to secure public funding, we are currently facing a budget deficit and are desperately trying to fill this gap ourselves.
As such we would be incredibly grateful for any contribution that you are able to provide to support Pennyworth’s future. We understand that this is a tough financial time for many and therefore understand that financial support is not always possible but please do share the information about our company and our aims with friends and family, that too would be very generous.

With many best wishes and a happy new year,
Gennie Allcott, (M10)
