An OA communications and PR professional has come back to Tyneside to build up his client base in the North East.

Tom Willcox (E90), a freelance public relations practitioner and digital content specialist, has returned to Newcastle upon Tyne after an eight year spell running his own business on the Fylde coast in North Lancashire.

Current clients include Albion Legal, Abbey Telecom and Spedding Dental Clinic, with services covering website content generation, press releases and promotional picture stories, and copywriting for marketing materials.

Tom also works with design and communications agencies on website building projects and communications campaigns, with the provision of digital content for businesses across a range of industries now a mainstay of his work.

“It’s refreshing to be back in the North East after setting up the business eight years ago and Whitley Bay is a fantastic place to live,” says Tom.

“I’m looking forward to helping local firms here with communications and promotional activity. How you present your business online or in print can be hugely influential in getting your message across, widening your customer base and increasing sales.

“I offer flexible PR packages tailored to suit individual requirements, business size and budget.  The aim is always to come up with a suitable communications plan to achieve maximum impact.”

Managing director of Abbey Telecom Tony Raynor, who uses Tom’s services, says:  "Tom’s work has made a strong contribution towards our business growth objectives.  We commissioned him to work with us with a specific remit to raise our profile in local newspapers and telecoms industry trade press.

“He has had an impressive ‘hit’ rate, with coverage each time he does a story for us.  We make sure we work with him to supply decent pegs for news stories and tie these in with our marketing strategy."
