OAGS versus Old Gregorians at Sunningdale GC – 25th February March 2018

Lost: OAGS 2 ½ – OGGS 5 ½

The usual organiser of this early match, Martin Hattrell, temporarily handed over the reins to Matt Camacho. We gathered in freezing cold conditions and sent a team out full of confidence. Alas, the morning rounds didn't go as hoped, settling in to lunch at 3-1 down.

The solitary OA point was gathered by James Faulkner and William Frewen.

An excellent lunch went well, and we hoped to reverse our fortunes in the afternoon. That went slightly better, but not well enough! We lost the afternoon session 2 ½ to 1 ½ , with Christian Minchella and Chris Healy winning their match; Sam Moon and James Faulkner picking up a half. Match final score 5 1/2 - 2 1/2 to Downside. A special mention must be made of the generosity of Peter Chalk, who paid for lunch.
